Improvements to Waste Oil Reclaim. Facility

Project Description
The Waste Oil Reclaim. Facility (WORF) and Upper Tank Farm (UTF) are a major portion of the FISC fuels dept's exposed fuel and reclamation facilities. As such they are currently under the Federal requirements for EPA upgrades. Our project is part of that upgrade to provide a secondary containment system (i.e. and concrete liner and wall system) that will contain the reclaimed oils in the event of a catastrophic failure of one of the tanks. The liner would allow the Navy approx. 3 days to pump the bowl shaped area clean and redeposit the oils elsewhere. The UTF work is solely run on - run off control of rain water that might invade the WORF if not directed to storm drainage.

Location
Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii

Contract Value
$1,300,000 (approx.) *

*Note
The original project work was completed in a timely manner and was extended from August 24, 2000 to March 1, 2001 due to the processing of 14 change orders to the contract. These change orders involving movement of soils, redesign of drainage swales, electrical changes and concrete revisions due to differing site conditions increased the contract value more than $400,000.00.
